Chapter 4: Working with Tracks 73
chapter 4
Working with Tracks
The Fader section includes eight individual
channel/fader strips, and the SELECT/AS-
SIGN, AUTOMATION and other switch
sections along the left side of every Main
Unit and Fader Pack.
This chapter explains each component of
the fader section, and explains their opera-
tion for channel-specific tasks.
Channel Fader
The channel faders are used for level con-
trol of audio and MIDI tracks, master fad-
ers, and auxiliary inputs, or for send level
using FLIP mode.
The Fader Bank
Channels are arranged in sets of eight con-
tiguous strips, referred to as banks.
Pro Tools/ProControl Bank Indicators
Each ProControl unit’s active bank of
channels is indicated in Pro Tools with a
colored outline around the bank’s track
names in the Mix window. If there are
fewer than eight channels/tracks on-
screen, they appear as active faders on Pro-
Control from left to right; unused faders re-
main blank.
